The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has officially released the notification for the AAI Junior Assistant (Fire Service) Recruitment 2024 on its website. Interested candidates can apply online from December 30, 2024, to January 28, 2025. However, from April 5 to April 11, 2025, the online application is once again open to you.

This recruitment drive is specifically for the Southern Region, and only candidates who are domiciled in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, or Lakshadweep are eligible to apply.

Exam Structure

The selection process for Junior Assistant (Fire Service) is divided into two main stages:

  • Stage 1: A Computer-Based Test (CBT) lasting 2 hours.
  • Stage 2: Includes document verification, medical examination, driving test, and an endurance test.

Candidates who clear all stages will undergo a Basic Training Course (BTC) during which they’ll receive a stipend of ₹25,000.

For the Senior Assistant (Electronics) position, the process includes a CBT, document verification, and training before the final appointment.

Application Process

Eligibility Criteria

For Junior Assistant (Fire Service)

  • Age: 18–30 years (with relaxation for reserved categories and specific cases).
  • Education:
    • 10th pass + 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Fire (min. 50%)
    • OR 12th pass with at least 50%
  • Driving License:
    • Must have a valid Heavy/Medium/Light Motor Vehicle License.
    • LMV license should be at least 2 years old; MMV at least 1 year old.
    • Candidates with LMV/MMV will get a chance to obtain a heavy vehicle license during training.

Physical & Medical Standards

  • Height: 167 cm (men), 157 cm (women)
  • Chest (for men): 81 cm (expandable by 5 cm)- (applicable only for men)
  • Weight: Min 55 kg (men), 45 kg (women)
  • Vision: 6/6 (no glasses), color vision must be normal, no night blindness
  • Hearing/Speech: Normal

For Senior Assistant (Electronics)

  • Age: 18–30 years (relaxations apply)
  • Education: 3-year Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunication/Radio Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

Junior Assistant (Fire Service)

  • Stage 1: CBT (100 marks) covering:
    • Arithmetic
    • General English
    • General Knowledge
  • Qualifying Marks:
    • 50 (General/OBC)
    • 40 (SC/ST)
  • Stage 2: Document verification, medical exam, driving test, and endurance test (100m run, rope climb, ladder climb, dummy drag, etc.)

Senior Assistant (Electronics)

  • CBT with 70% questions based on technical subjects and 30% on general topics.
  • Those who clear the CBT will go through document verification and then training.
